The Mill Creek master planned community is modeled after a traditional country town, where everything
you need is within walking distance for you and your family. An 18-hole golf course and 9-hole pitch and
putt, along with a golf academy and family-learning center is available at the Mill Creek Golf Club within
the community. Additionally, the public clubhouse and pub are open year round.
An attractive old-fashioned Village Center offers convenient shopping, office space, a recreation center and
community services. Also within the Mill Creek community are 72 acres of parks, 15 miles of jogging and
biking paths, and on-site Geneva Elementary School.
Mill Creek, which was developed by Sho-Deen, Inc., the largest residential development in Kane County to
date. Rather than a development or subdivision, Mill Creek feels like a hometown.
"There's nothing like it in the Midwest," says Craig Shodeen, president of Sho-Deen, Inc. Mill Creek
combines the finest aspects of Kane County's historic past with land planning and environmental benefits
for the future to create the hometown you've been dreaming about, but never dreamed you could find.
Mill Creek's Village Center is one of its most exciting hometown elements. Like the village squares of
yesteryear, it will contain enticing specialty shops and restaurant, a community church, professional offices,
a small Inn, community park, a full-scale golf club with village pub, and residential units, all surrounded by
parks, open space and the Mill Creek golf course. Trees and landscaping, park benches and old-fashioned
street lamps will add to the relaxed, small-town appeal.
An amazing 45% of the property is devoted to community parks, neighborhood parks, golf course, forest
preserves and wetlands, which in turn provide homes for untold species of indigenous wildlife. Many of
Mill Creek's neighborhoods will contain at least one park.
"It's exciting to see Mill Creek come together," sums up Craig Shodeen. "Everyone in the family
contributed to the planning. This development is our vision. We have tremendous pride in Mill Creek. It's
very important to all of us to make it the best it can be."
