Living on a golf Course used to be only for the country club set. In recent years, though, many of the new residential golf communities have been built around public courses. Broken Arrow, in suburban Lockport, is one of them. The 579 acre development when it open in 1996, planned for 1500 Housing units. One of the early builders was Lakewood Homes, who built over 100 semi-custom residences on lots that averaged 16,000 square feet. These homes were built in the neighborhood known as Lakewood of Broken Arrow.
Today, there are two builders currently building at Broken Arrow: Hearthside Homes in the Long Bow Creek and Dakota Glen neighborhood, and Zausa Homes in the Thunder Hill Neighborhood. Both are semi-custom builders and offer a wide array of floor plans.
Broken Arrow is a Bob Lohmann course design, which offers 27 holes of championship golf. Three unique nine-hole layouts offer three 18-hole combinations for a variety of golf experiences.
"It's a terrific venue for casual golfers, a family golf outing, or a twilight round," reports Centerstage Chicago. And Golf Digest surveys have rated Broken Arrow as one of the best-conditioned and affordable new courses in the country. Broken Arrow Golf Club is also the home of the Tom O'Connor Golf Academy.
Other amenities include a thirty-station bent grass practice facility complete with a short game green. The clubhouse offers a snack bar to satisfy your appetite or quench your thirst. There's also a pro shop if you need to make a purchase.
