The background of Wynstone is quite remarkable, The entire community encompasses over 750 acres and was originally over 40 separate parcels of land including 320 acres which belonged to the well know Chicago philanthropist and insurance magnate, W. Clement Stone.
Portions of the property were the homes of a Christmas tree farm, a 50-acre horse farm and another farm of approximately 55 acres. In addition there are 110 acres of natural wetland, which are federally protected.
The rolling terrain, natural beauty, wooded areas, wetlands, ponds and lakes in Wynstone combined with the ingenuity and incredible golf course designed by Jack Nickalaus make the entire Wynstone community one of the premier golf communities in the United States.
