  The Merit Club in Libertyville held the U.S. Women's Open in July, 2000. Designed by Bob Lohmann, Merit Club opened to rave reviews in 1992. Located on 300 acres of farmland owned by the Getz family, the course has a varied terrain with trees dotting the front nine and native prairie grasses prominent on the back side.
