The land encompassing Conway Farms and its nationally recognized golf course was once a dairy farm and homestead of John Conway, one of the earliest settlers in Lake County. A portion of the old dairy farm straddled the road names for John Conway, thus giving rise to the name Conway Farms.
Right from the start the founding partners, who are all long-time Lake Forest residents, conceived of building a first class golf course surrounded by housing of superior design and quality. Their vision is for Conway Farms to be a development of long term value to the residents, the club members and the Lake Forest community in which we all live.
Conway has been repeatedly recognized as the outstanding new community in Chicago, most recently with the Gold Key award received from the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chicago, Best Upscale Community, Best Community, Best Landscaped Architecture, Best Land Plan, along with Best Luxury Development in 1999 fro the Chicago Sun Times. Our Tom Fazio designed golf course has been ranked on the best in Illinois and has been the site of numerous distinguished amateur events, including the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship in 1997 and the USGA Boys Junior Amateur in 1998. Its members now privately own the Club.
